Our story
Slade House is both a shop and online store, run by Charles Glover from a Georgian townhouse in the market town of Langport, Somerset. He shows and sells original pieces of 20th Century furniture, art and design, sourced widely from auctions and dealers around the UK.
Charles has always been a passionate collector of 20th Century art and design. Slade House brings together an eclectic range of ever-changing stock, much of is now also available for purchase here online. Charles is also a professional photographer and expert in 20th Century furniture and product design. He still works as a portrait photographer and is available for private commissions on request. He specialises in working with natural light at your home or a location of choice. You can see his work here.
Slade House also owns www.Modern-Originals.com, specialising in 20th Century artist editions - lithographs, giclees and limited edition prints by Chagall, Miro, Bacon and many other eminent modern artists. Selected works are always on display at Slade House.
